How students learn

Please click on the tabs below to learn more about how students learn in the course. If you have other questions not listed here please contact us at the contact us page. Thank you.

  • Students would need a computer or laptop, an email address and an internet connection.

Free email addresses are available at:

    http://www.yahoo.com

    http://www.google.com

    http://www.hotmail.com

If students need help typing, they can learn to type for free at:

    http://www.typingweb.com

    http://www.nchsoftware.com/typingtutor/index.html?gclid=CKqE3oGrsKsCFYsc6wodUBaSew

Just copy one of these addresses into your web browser to get to the page.

  •    Students receive one lesson, at a time. The lesson is in a Microsoft Word document. The document can be read in any Microsoft Word format. All lessons are self-explanatory. Parents do not need to guide their children.

Students read the lesson and the examples given and then do the homework

It will take about 45 minutes to an hour to complete each lesson and homework. Students need to send in one complete lesson for marking at a time.

After marking, the teacher tells students how to improve and asking them to do corrections on the answers, spelling and grammar, if necessary.

The teacher sends students the next lesson only when he is satisfied with the students work in the previous lesson.

  • Students can send in assignments in two ways:

    1.   Students complete the assignments by typing in the answers in the lesson booklet (word document) on the laptop or computer, then save it and email it back to us for marking.

    2.   Students print out the lesson and write out the answers into the lesson booklet. Then scan their answers into the computer and email it to us.

Students usually receive their marked work the next day or the day after, or at the very latest within 3 days.

  • We recommend students complete a lesson with corrections at least once a week. A lesson and homework should be fully completed before sending in for marking.

Of course, students can complete two or more lessons with corrections a week, if they wish, or because they need to, as it is getting closer to the exams.

  • If for two weeks in a row, students do not send in their work, the teacher, Mr Raja, will email the student.

If the student does not respond, he will email their parents. Parents can also receive their children's assignments by email in order to keep track of how they are doing.

  • The number of lessons depends on the course and school level. Composition and Comprehension courses range from 10 to 20 lessons. Grammar Courses range from 30 to 35 lessons.

For the exact no. of lessons in each course, please refer to the relevant webpage in the horizontal bar above. Thank you.

  •    Students can do a lesson a week, two lessons a week or more. It is up to the students.

We offer courses that can be completed in 6 months or 12 months or sooner depending on the programme you choose. This duration is calculated based on completing a lesson (with corrections) a week.

When students do two lessons (with corrections) a week the courses can be completed in 3 or 6 months depending on the programme you choose.

After the courses are completed, students continue to improve with our Practice Packages for additional compositions to write or comprehension passages to do.

As our Grammar Courses have 30 or more lessons each. Students are given 9 months to complete the Grammar Courses based on completing a lesson (with corrections) a week.
