Why choose email learning?
1) Email
Composition and Comprehension learning actively encourages school
learning
Students learn in many ways, such as through reading, listening and
doing. In fact all of us learn in these ways too.
The primary and most important
way students learn in school is by reading. That is why reading is
actively encouraged by the Ministry of Education even before
Kindergarten so that children can gain the knowledge they need in
Kindergarten and Primary school, as soon as possible. In fact, a child
who can read well can learn a lot of other things by himself or
herself; in time he will become an independent learner. A child who
cannot read well, continuously depends on teachers, parents and
tutors.
This is also why the love of reading is encouraged by schools and
the Ministry of Education throughout Primary school. (Acquiring
knowledge by reading is expected from all students in Secondary,
Junior College, Polytechnic and University.) If we look at world
leaders (political as well as industrial), and especially at our own
leaders, one thing becomes clear: they all were or are avid readers.
Even some industrial leaders in the past who could not read, hired
people to read to them, or to read on their behalf and advise them.
In schools, students learn and
complete their assignments and exams by:
a) reading what the teacher writes on the board
b) listening to the teacher
c) taking down notes and reading their notes
d) reading instructions for their homework
e) reading their completed assignments for corrections
f) reading their lessons and textbooks and
g) reading their exam papers
Our students do the same.
They learn by reading and doing their assignments; moreover they get
the experienced guidance and motivation of our expert and caring
teacher, Mr K Rajamanikam (Raja).
Students just read the lessons
(which is like 'listening' to the teacher) containing clear and
straightforward explanations and examples, that even our P1 students
can follow. Then they complete the assignments and send the
assignments in for marking. All guidance is given in the lessons, and
by the teacher. No parent input is required.
Students (and parents) can email the
teacher if they have any questions, but so far no one has found the
need to do this. This is
because, as mentioned earlier, the lessons are written such a clear
and simple manner that even our Primary 1 students find them easy to
understand.
We have taught hundreds of students
from Primary 1 to 'A' Level to score higher marks (with most of them
scoring 'As' or 'A*s')
in this way. We are, therefore, very confident your child will benefit
in the same way.
2)
We guarantee that students will score higher marks or we will refund
the full fees.
How are we able to do this? In three ways:
a)
Complete courses - both foundational and advanced techniques
Many students are unable to score higher marks because their
foundation is weak and incomplete. We provide foundational and
advanced techniques to complete students’ knowledge, so students are
able to score higher marks every time.
b)
A
quicker way to master Composition Writing and Comprehension with a
step-by-step method
Each
lesson is designed to build on skills learnt and knowledge gained in
the previous lesson. This enables students to grasp all the important
aspects of the subject immediately and quickly.
c)
Weak
and average students become above average or top students
When
students do not answer satisfactorily, we give guidance and hints on
how to correct their answers and grammatical errors. Students redo
their work and send them in for remarking. (Teachers in
classrooms do not have the time to train students this way.
Traditional tuition also does not trained students this way because
the time and cost involved would be formidable. We have the time to do
this, and at an affordable fee; because we conduct the course by
email.) Students also develop confidence in answering questions in
the exams.
3)
The courses have been developed and are taught by our qualified
and expert principal teacher, K Rajamanikam, (Raja)
who has forty years experience as an educationist. He has also written
over 60 English Educational Supplementary Books, many of them
available at Popular, including three Composition Writing Books for
Primary 4, 5 and 6 students, which were published under TriLife
Communications. Read more about him here.
4)
Raja the teacher, loves writing Compositions and essays and he
transfers that love of writing to our students,
so that they too come to love and enjoy writing.
5)
Unlike classroom teaching where students have to keep up with the pace
of learning set by the teacher, who is trying to complete a fixed
syllabus in a limited time; Raja, can lavish on each student as
much time as the student needs in order to understand and complete
each lesson successfully. That is why many students in schools
need remedial lessons. Our courses will do away with the need for
remedial classes as our step-by-step method of teaching ensures the
students master the lessons in the shortest time possible and at a
pace that is comfortable for them.
6)
Raja is able to motivate students to excel.
He does this by praising students’ strengths and encouraging students
to improve in their weak areas.
7)
The students receives all lessons by email; there is no need to
travel to and from classes.
This leaves students more time to master the lessons thoroughly at
home or at any place they wish, and even leave them time for other
activities.
8)
Students can choose to complete their lessons and assignments
when it is convenient for them to do so,
rather then at fixed times and days as in tuition and classroom
teaching. This gives students the freedom to decide on the most
suitable time and day during the week for completing their lessons and
assignments. All we insist on is that every student completes one
assignment per course per week.
9)
Setting a schedule for reading the lessons and completing the
assignments weekly also empowers students to develop discipline and
responsibility – which are valuable
traits, especially in higher levels of learning. This can also save
parents the trouble of ‘chasing’ their children to complete their
school work on time.
10)
As reading is the main way students
learn, students’ reading and comprehension abilities improve. This in
turn, improves their reading and comprehension abilities in other
subjects.
11)
Confidence gained in being able to
answer questions in the exams correctly spills over into other areas:
students become more confident about themselves in general.
